What to Expect From Your Baby’s First Health Check

When you give birth to your baby, you may not have the energy to think about what happens next. It’s important for your newborn to have her first check with the doctor or midwife.

This is a routine check that every baby has when they’re born so medical professionals can pick up on anything that may need treating. You may be wondering what your baby’s check up will involve. Here are some tests your doctor may perform.

Eye Test

Your doctor may look into your baby’s eyes to see how responsive they are. You may also notice that your doctor shines a small torch into your baby’s eyes.

As a new mother, you may feel protective over your baby and the different tests but it’s just so your doctor can see whether your baby’s eyes are working as they should.

When the torch is shined in your baby’s eyes your doctor will look to see if your baby’s iris shrinks and expands accordingly.

Hearing Test

Your baby will be too small to react to sounds yet. Unlike older children, your baby won’t be able to turn its head in response to sound, so your doctor will use other methods to test your baby’s hearing.

You may notice a nurse or midwife place a small device in your baby’s ears. This device puts a high-pitched frequency into your baby’s ears and registers your baby’s reaction. If the test is inconclusive or there is a problem an audiologist will come to investigate.

The doctor will perform the test while you’re in the hospital with your baby or you’ll be given a later appointment.

Heart Test

They will place your baby under a fluorescent light to keep her warm. Your doctor will need to have your baby undressed to listen to her heart. There may be times when a baby’s heart beat is faster because of the trauma of being born.

There may also be times when a doctor or midwife notices an irregularity or heart murmur. In this instance, a pediatrician may come onto the ward in order to listen to your baby’s heart.

General Appearance

The doctor or midwife may spend some time just looking at your baby’s skin. If your baby’s skin appears slightly yellow, it could be because your baby has jaundice.

It can be quite common in baby’s and midwives recommend plenty of Vitamin D and sunlight. This test will also allow your health provider to identify any birth marks on the skin.

If your doctor notices something concerning, you may be referred to a pediatrician for a second opinion.

Weighing and Measuring

Your doctor will measure and weigh your baby during their first health check. This is to ensure your baby grows adequately and stays on the same percentile throughout their first year.

Measuring your baby’s height, weight and head size at different intervals is a good way to make sure there are no underlying problems.

Don’t worry, your baby is in good hands.

How to Help Your Child Make the Most Out of Their Education

We all want our kids to be happy and successful when they grow up. No two kids are the same. Some are motivated enough to sit down and do their homework right after school, while others would rather play with their friends or go on the computer and engage with virtual reality.

No matter what type of child you have, it is your responsibility to help them make the most out of the opportunities presented to them through education. Remember that we are extremely lucky in the Western world, having access to free education.

It is, however, what you make out of it that matters. Below you will find a few tips on how to support your child through every stage.

Communicate with the School

It is important that you know what is going on with your child when they are not at home. Learn about the different subjects they are learning about, and the exams they are taking.

If you know what is expected of your child at school, you will be able to work on a strategy with them and the school to achieve the best outcomes short term and long term. You need to know what they are learning, what their strengths and weaknesses are, so you can put the right level of support in place.

Get Involved In Learning

If you want to show your child that you care about their education and are there to help, you might want to pick up their books more than once a term. It is important that you discuss the topics and check that they understand what they are learning about.

You cannot just assume that they are old enough to let the teacher know that they are struggling with a subject; you might want to check their knowledge in a playful way; so they don’t think that you are testing them at home.

Help Them Cope

It is crucial that you monitor your child’s peer relationships and emotional wellbeing. No matter if you worry about bullying, you have a hypersensitive child, or they have learning difficulties; you will need to help them make the most out of the time they are spending at school.

If they have issues with their hearing or their vision; you will need to let the teachers know that they require some adjustments. However, it is your responsibility to arrange eye tests and hearing aid maintenance regularly; so they can learn as effectively as possible.

Get the Right Health Assessments

No matter if you suspect a behavioral issue or a learning difficulty; you will need to sit down with your child’s teacher and get the right support for your child. It is often easier to get a specialist appointment if you get a school referral. Especially if you show that you care about your child’s behavior and the quality of their education.

In case you suspect that your child has a disability or health condition, you should ask an outsider’s expert opinion.

Healthy Diet

It is important that you provide your child with a healthy and balanced diet. You need to avoid processed food and sweets as much as you can. However, you also have to monitor what they eat in school.

In case you are the kind of parent who just gives them money for lunch, without checking what they ate. You will  need to start paying more attention. Kids are under a lot of peer pressure; eating salad or fruit in front of their friends might not be something they choose to do- unless you explain to them why it is good for them.

Reward Them for Extra Work or Improvement

Image via onlineartefactskohler.weebly.com

Learning should not stop at the classroom. You should get into the routine of checking your child’s homework. Until you can be sure that they are responsible enough to get on with the work.

At the same time, you might want to set up sessions at home to supplement your child’s school education. You can watch documentaries together related to what they are learning about, and discuss what you saw.

You might also give them some challenges on educational gaming sites. This will keep their knowledge fresh and get them more involved in the topic.

As a responsible adult and a parent; you have to make sure that your child starts life and education with the best chances of success. Support them, get involved in their school work, and communicate with their teacher to help them on their learning journey.

Perfect Pros: Finding The Right Medical Expert For You

Most people don’t think too much about the doctor they use. You only need this sort of professional when you have a health issue which you’d like checked out. It will only be a big part of your life if you have a long-term condition.

If you find yourself needing the support of someone like this on a regular basis, though, they will start to become far more important to you. To help you out with this, this post will be exploring some of the work which can go into choosing the right doctor for you.

While a lot of people struggle with this, it doesn’t have to be something which makes your life a challenge.

The Importance Of Trust

When someone is going to be performing treatments on your body, it’s essential that you feel confident in them. Trust goes far beyond simply assuming that they won’t hurt you, with loads of people finding that mistakes are the biggest risk they face.

You will always have the opportunity to talk to medical professionals before they work with you. This gives you the chance to search for more than one option, comparing them by talking and getting an idea of what they plan to do to you.

Look for reviews around the web which will make you feel better about the people who you choose to work with.

Understanding Their Credentials

There are loads of different routes which people can take to get into the medical field. Some aren’t as reliable as others. For example a degree won’t take as long to achieve; but won’t be regarded as highly as one from somewhere which takes longer.

If you ask your doctor about their education, they will usually be more than happy to tell you about it. With this information, you can figure out whether or not they have the experience to handle your condition properly.

Some medical professionals are far more specialized than others.

Agreeing With Their Practices

The field of medicine has long been a controversial one. On the whole, most people agree with the general idea of keeping people healthy. Although there are some ethical issues which can come along with this sort of practice.

For example, many hospitals will use a trial and error process to find the best medication for their patients. While this won’t kill you, it can have a negative impact on your body; and this will make it worth looking for an place which won’t go through this.

This can be a little more challenging to understand; though you can always stick with those who are honest about the methods.

This goes further than the way that they look after you, though. Over the last few years, keeping people healthy is a business . With loads of companies who dedicate time to make money out of medicine.

This has lead to some doctors using poor-quality treatment methods to make as much money as they possibly can. It’s always worth researching a treatment before they give it to you, even if it’s something you’ve heard about before.

It should be easy to figure out whether or not they’ve providing you with something worth taking.

Following Their Track Record

As you find in most fields, medical professionals have to undergo strict assessments to be able to do their jobs. This is a big part to monitor their success rate; especially with those who have too many failed procedures having to go through a fresh learning process.

There are acceptable limits to a doctor’s success. It is very important to find a medical professional you can trust

You can be open and honest about this, and the professional in front of you will have an obligation to be truthful; making it nice and easy to crack the case.

Along with the doctor- you can also do research to figure out how successful the surgery has been on the whole.

Some places value quantity over quality. While others will have a strong focus on their patients; this makes it hard to make sure you’re going to get the best treatment.

Websites like Google offer reviews for hospitals and surgeries, giving you a great place to go to figure out how other people have been treated.

You won’t regret putting this time into once you have someone who has a long history of saving lives.

Dedicated Facilities

There are loads of medical conditions in the world which take special care to be able to manage. In a normal hospital, this can be a real challenge, with all of the work which has to be done being made harder by the limited space available.

Skilled nursing facilities can be found all over the world. While using them will mean staying somewhere for a little bit, this will always be worth it, especially if they are able to help you properly.

Far too many people visit places which simply can’t help them well enough. While this is a big shame, it doesn’t mean that help is unavailable, and you have plenty of places to turn if you are unsure.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to start being far more picky with the people who help with your medical health. It can be hard to know who to trust when you are dealing with a medical condition, especially with the modern world being filled with those who want to take money from you.

Of course, though, it makes sense to put plenty of time into it, as you might not get the chance in the future. Once you have someone you are happy to work with, it will be worth sticking with them, as swapping doctors all the time can get expensive when you don’t have insurance. There are few services which are as important as medicine.

Are These The Reasons Why You Are Struggling To Relax At Home?

Our homes should be a place of rest and recuperation; a haven from the trials and stresses that await us outside. But if you are having trouble relaxing in the place that should be your refuge, then you need to take steps to alleviate the problem.

So, are these the reasons why you are struggling to relax at home?

#1: Your home is cold

If your home is colder than it is outside, then you have to ask yourself why. You are never going to truly relax if you are constantly chilled to the bone, or running the risk of huge energy bills by having the heating turned up to the max.

Tip: For starters, you need to use your common sense. So, close doors and windows to prevent unwelcoming draughts, and dress warmly to add to your comfort.

Then check your home for any problems, such as any cracks in your doors, windows, roof, and flooring.

Fill in any gaps with caulk, consider replacing old doors and windows, hire a roofing company to repair any damage, and consider insulating your roof and flooring to preserve your heat.

#2: You aren’t getting enough me-time

We all need a little me-time away from the stresses of our busy lives. But if you’re a mom, or if you share your house with friends, then getting time alone can be difficult.

However, you need to find opportunities to do so, as you will eventually risk losing your sanity if you don’t get the time and space you crave.

Tip: Find times in the day when me-time is possible, such as when everybody else is at school or at work and use our de-stressing tips to help you spend your time productively.

You might also want to find a corner of your home that you can retreat to; your personal space that others are not allowed to infiltrate.

Fill it with the things that will help you to relax, such as books, magazines, music, and scents, and schedule time each day to enjoy your happy space, away from the noise of others.

#3: Your home is untidy

A tidy home is a tidy mind, or so the saying goes. So, if this is true to you; if the mounting housework is getting you down and stressing you out, then you need to get on top of the mess before it (perhaps literally) gets on top of you.

Tip:  There are all kinds of things you can do to manage your untidy home. You might have a good clear-out for a start, as this will help you to declutter your belongings.

You could create a housework rota to share the burden so you don’t have to deal with any household mess alone. And you might want to form good habits, such as making an effort to clean up your mess as you go, as this will alleviate the chances of it piling up and overwhelming you.

Finally

For all we know, there may be other reasons why you are struggling to relax at home, and if so, make every effort to overcome those issues that face you.

And if you have any tips of your own, perhaps in relation to what we have discussed within this article, please let us know, for the sake of any of us (or all of us) who are trying to improve our relaxation time at home.

How You Can Make Your Pet Happy and Healthy

Having a pet in the home, especially a pet like a cat or a dog that are more hands-on, can be like having another member of the family.

And as such, they are not unlike children either. Our pets need our care and attention in order to help them to be happy and healthy.

They do rely on you for everything, much like a child, so here are some of the ways that you can help to make them healthier and happier.

image

Grooming

Grooming your pet is a really important part of helping your pet to be happy. It helps them to feel better and get rid of any itches or hairballs.

Which is why having a brush for your pet is really important; it can also be a great bonding time for the two of you as well.

Dogs and cats have nails just like us, and these grow and grow. If you don’t stay on top of keeping these trimmed, then it can be really bothersome to them as it can impact how they walk and how comfortable they are.

They can scratch themselves as well and cause damage if their nails are kept too long.

Another aspect of grooming that we often forget about is our pet’s ears. We all know how important something like your dog’s hearing is to them, but how many pet owners think to check inside the ears?

This can be a place where a lot of different troubles could be brewing up and breeding. The things to look out for in the ears of your cats and dogs, are things like wax, dirt, and any moisture; these can all cause problems when left.

Teeth and gums are important too, as just like us, ant problems can be really bothersome. Chew toys or sticks are a good idea, and you can even get toothbrushes or your pet (but check with your vet first).

Activity

Keeping your pet active is really important for a variety of reasons. It can be good to help them to be active, as well as to maintain their weight, and help them to be happier.

It allows you to spend time together as well. For a pet like a dog, the main activity for them will be walks and running and chasing.

But for cats, you might need to get more things for in the home, like balls, things that make noise, or even something like a unique fish cat toy.

Anything bright and colorful is going to be a good idea and keep their attention. Again, these are all great things to be doing together and helps you bond.

Bathing

Cats do normally keep their own fur clean by doing their own washing. However, there are some parts that the cat won’t be able to reach, like under the chin and round the neck.

If you want to bathe your cat, it is best to get them used to water and bathing at a young age; the same thing goes for a dog.

Get Pregnant Fast With These Top Tips

When couples decide it’s time to start a family, they often think that falling pregnant will be fairly easy. After all, they just have to make sure they are having sex plenty of times, right? Well, in theory that should be enough, but it isn’t always the case.

There are hundreds of couples out there who have spent a year or so trying for a baby but nothing conceiving never seems to happen. This can be extremely frustrating and upsetting.

If you are about to start to try for your first baby, you will certainly want to conceive as quickly as possible. Then you can rule out any infertility issues with you or your partner. Ready to get started? Here are a few great tips that should help you fall pregnant as quickly as possible.

Stop Contraception Well In Advance

If you are still on your contraception, you will need to come off that in order to become pregnant. Some women wait until they start trying for a baby, but it is highly advisable to come off your contraception well in advance. Ideally, you should stop using it about three to four months before you are going to start trying for a baby.

This will give your body the chance to get back into its natural rhythm, which should aid conception. Not only that, though, but it may take a month or two for your regular periods to return after coming off contraception that stopped your periods completely.

You won’t be able to fall pregnant until they return.

Pexels

Know The Best Time To Try To Conceive

It is also essential that you know the best time to try and conceive. You will only be able to fall pregnant if you have sex around the time your body ovulates. This is the name given to the process of the ovaries releasing an egg into the uterus.

The egg will only survive for up to twenty-four hours after ovulation if it isn’t fertilized. You don’t have to have sex within this small window, though. Sperm can survive for up to seventy two hours after sex, so if you have sex a couple of days before ovulation, you might still get pregnant.

The best way to know when you are ovulating is to track your cycle. Useful apps like Clue can help you with that.

Consider Scientific Intervention

The majority of couples will conceive within a year of trying. If you haven’t, it could be time to see your doctor about seeking scientific intervention to help you fall pregnant.

There are a few different options that you will have, including IVF and IUI. As the cost of in vitro fertilization is often quite reasonable compared to some of the other treatment methods, it is one of the most popular methods of conception for couples.

However, depending on the reason why you haven’t been able to conceive, you might have to use a different method. If you speak to your doctor or a specialist at your local fertility clinic, they will be able to advise you on your best course of action.

Watch Your Weight

What some women don’t know is that their weight could be affecting their ability to fall pregnant as well. It is possible that being underweight or overweight could be making it difficult for you.

So, if you are carrying a few extra pounds or could do with putting another couple on, it’s worth seeing to this before you start trying for a baby.

This is because being under or overweight can create an hormone imbalance in the body, and this could ultimately affect the hormones needed in the reproduction process.

Get Your Vitamin Levels Checked

You should also get your vitamin levels checked by a professional as well. If you have a deficit in some vitamins, your body might struggle to conceive.

This is especially the case when it comes to men and their sperm counts. If your partner has low zinc levels then there is a chance that they will have a reduced number of sperm.

To fix that, you should get them to eat plenty of dairy, whole grains, and legumes. Women need to make sure they are eating plenty of vitamins D and B6. You’ll find these in spinach, eggs, and fortified cereals.

If you eat more nutrient-rich foods in your diet but find that your vitamin levels don’t improve, it could be worth speaking to your doctor. There could be an underlying condition that needs to be seen to.

Your doctor will treat that or, if they can’t determine an underlying issue, might simply tell you to take a daily vitamin supplement.

Don’t Use Lubricants

Some couples think that using lubricants during sex can help them fall pregnant as they will help the sperm travel further to the cervix.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. In actual fact, you should try to not use lubricants if you are trying for a baby as many of them contain chemicals that can actually kill sperm.

So, you obviously don’t want that anywhere near you! Don’t worry if you struggle to have sex without any lubricants, though.

There are some brands that use natural ingredients and won’t kill any sperm.

Don’t Get Too Stressed

Did you know that high stress levels can also make it very difficult to conceive? There have been some studies that show women who are more relaxed will have better look trying to conceive.

This is both in everyday life and while physically trying to conceive. If you are stressed at all, it could result in an imbalance of your hormones, which will likely have a negative effect on the body’s reproductive system.

So, try as much as possible to unwind – take plenty of bubble baths, get an early night as often as you can, and spend plenty of time on your own self-care.

There are lots of great tips and helpful advice out there all about trying to conceive. Hopefully, the tips in this blog post will help you fall pregnant as soon as possible!

Time to Save Energy? Here’s How to Do it Right

While you may feel like you need to save energy more than any, it’s actually not going to do much for your wallet at all. Saving the energy you use at home, on the other hand, is great for the environment as well as your personal finances – and it’s easier than ever as well.

Image via: Pexels

If you’re ready to improve your lifestyle at home slightly and make sure that your practice what you preach, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Here is a handful of great ways to save more energy at home and become a more sustainable household; it sends a powerful message to your kids as well, by the way, and they’ll learn as early as possible that sustainability is a requirement and not an option.

First: Cutting down on electricity

Since this is all about saving energy, we might as well start with it right away; in order to use a bit less of it at home, you need to find more ways to keep the little you have inside. This means that you should keep it nice and cool during the summer so that you’re not tempted to turn the A/C on full all the time – and, of course, make sure that it’s a bit warmer during the winter.

High-quality windows can take care of both of these for you in one go as they’ll be able to insulate your home so much better. Look for double or triple glazing and remember to swap out your curtains for blinds when it’s warm out and change back to thicker curtains as soon as the sun disappears again.

That way, you’ll be maintaining the temperature you want and the air outside won’t be allowed to sneak in anytime soon.

Next: Save more water

A sustainable home knows that saving water is important for the environment. There are many ways to do this too, luckily, and one of the first things you should buy are plastic water tanks. That way, you’ll be able to keep the rainwater when the sky finally provides some water and you won’t allow anything to go to waste.

Another tip is to cut down on those showers by installing a water saving showerhead. By doing this, you’ll also be saving energy, by the way, as your home needs to warm the water up and you’ll notice the result on the electricity bill at the end of the month as well.

Try to use the eco-friendly option on your laundry machine and dishwasher too. Your clothes will be just as clean but the environment will be a lot happier as well as your personal finances, in the long run.

Making your home just a bit greener and more sustainable is actually something that everyone should do. If you’re able to invest in solar panels, you should do this as soon as possible too – they’re a lot cheaper than they used to be back in the days and you will save so much money.

Keeping your Marriage Healthy and Strong After 8 years

Image result for marriage

The key to a happy marriage…Who am I kidding! I don’t believe there is an exact science on how to make it in a marriage, nothing in life is 100 percent guaranteed.  Every couple is unique and has their own needs and identities.  After eight wonderful years with my husband I have learned a lot about myself and my marriage.  It’s the journey that makes it special, getting to know your partner and communicating through the good and bad times.

Here are some tips to keep your marriage healthy through the years.

Communication

This is at the top of the list because it’s the most important.  Many people think that communication is only talking about your feelings and letting out a therapy session to your partner.

While this can be true, it’s also about communicating through bigger issues, this can be anything from finances to intimacy.  It’s so important that your partner hears from you what you’re feeling.

Many people today share these intimate details on social media or with a best friend, tell your spouse first.  Hearing it from an outside source can be hurtful to the other person.

Pick Your Battles

Who does the dishes or takes out the trash is a common argument in my home.  I have learned that it’s a team effort, and does it really matter who does it, as long as it gets done is what matters.  There are going to be so many issues to overcome in a marriage and these little fights are just not worth it.

It’s always best to just let the little things go and focus on more complicated problems, if there are any of course.

Sex

This probably should be at the top of the list, but this is coming from a wife so it’s number three.  Sex/intimacy is the most important thing to your husband, I won’t say all men but it matters to most.

When you begin to raise a family and have small children running around, as a woman you tend to feel less attractive and more exhausted than ever before and making time  for sex just seems impossible.

It’s important in a marriage to have a healthy sex life.  Don’t make it feel like a task, once it starts to feel that way, talk it out with your spouse and figure out what works best for you both.

It’s not going to be easy but there are many ways to fix this, (follow my next post for more tips on this).

Keep your own identity

Keep Your Own Identity

Being married for a long time you start to pick up some of your spouses tendancies and habits.  For example, I never used to really care for politics and economics, not something that is interesting to me.

Since my husband is so intrigued by it I found myself doing the same.  Keep true to yourselves ladies, remember that you are still a woman before his wife and mother.  Do things that make you happy and pick up your own hobbies. Blogging has been a great opportunity for me to branch out and have my own space.

It allows me to have my own ideas and creativity in a world that revolves around my family.

When To Talk To a Therapist

Sometimes these things don’t work, and thats ok.  Acknowledging that and accepting it is an important part to getting help.

Seeking a therapist and talking to someone to help your marriage can be a great tool.  Now there are many ways to communicate to a therapist or seek counseling.

Online counseling can be an effective way to get through to someone right away or in an emergency.

Making Ends Meet As A Parent

There are obviously many challenges which you are going to face as a parent, and you will need to learn how to deal with them each in turn. One which is likely to be particular difficult for many people however is that of being able to keep your finances in tact while looking after your children. This process of looking after you money can be very difficult indeed, and it is something which you will probably want to try and approach from a number of angles in order to make sure you get it right.

In this post, we are going to look at what you might be able to do in order to ensure you make ends meet as a new parent. As long as you follow some of the advice laid out here, you should find that is easier than you might have thought.

Thinking Ahead

With many aspects of parenting, you will find that it is beneficial to be able to think ahead as rationally and logically as you can. This is certainly true of taking care of things financially too, and the more able you are to look ahead and plan effectively, the more chance you will have of actually taking care of your money and therefore your children.

If you currently struggle to really think ahead in any meaningful way, then it is probably something that you want to learn to do at your earliest opportunity. Just try writing down all the things that you are going to have to budget for, and then make sure that you are panning for them in some reasonable way. You will soon see how much this becomes an integral part of looking after your children.

Borrowing

From time to time, it might be important to borrow some money. This is true for many parents, and you should not feel ashamed if you do need to do this at any point. However, you will want to make sure, of course, that you do so sensibly, and that you do not allow yourself to get into any serious amount of debt. Avoiding debt is another hugely important aspect to making sure you can continue to be a fit parent, so this is hugely important.

If you look around, you will soon notice that there are many online loan lenders to choose from, or you might be able to find someone in your life who can help you instead. In any case, it’s worth being aware of these and keeping your options open, should it become necessary for you to borrow any money.

Cutting Back

Remember too that there are always things you can do to reduce the amount you spend on anything, and the more adept you are at doing that, the easier you will find it to make ends meet. If you can find a few sensible areas in which you can reduce your expenditure, you will soon have the ability to have more money in your account – which ultimately means more money to look after your child with.

Easy To Ignore Cancer Symptoms That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

(image)

While many of us have been taught to self-examine ourselves, looking for lumps and bumps on our bodies that could give us cause for alarm when thinking about the risks of cancer, there are other symptoms that are easy to ignore. We have included a list of them in this article, and while they may not always indicate the possibility of cancer, it is still worth seeing your doctor if any of them are relevant to you.

Symptom #1: Bloating

We can all feel bloated after eating a large meal, and for women, feelings of bloating can also occur during the menstrual cycle. But as this article at Inspire suggests, bloating can also be an early sign of ovarian cancer. If this feeling persists, and you know you haven’t eaten or drank anything to cause you to feel overly full, then book that appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.

Symptom #2: Persistent Coughing

As we discussed in a previous article, certain health issues can appear innocuous but actually be a cause for concern. This is true of coughing. We can overlook the problem if we have recently had a cold or have other flu symptoms, but if we haven’t had those symptoms at all, or if we experience coughing fits long after our cold or flu has ended, then the red flags need to be raised. Persistent coughing can be a symptom for leukemia or lung cancer, and especially if blood is coughed up, it is necessary to seek medical advice immediately.

Symptom #3: Regular headaches and migraines

There are all kinds of reasons why we might get a headache or a migraine. Stress can be a leading factor, as can issues with noise and even our eyesight. However, if you are experiencing headaches regularly, and a) you don’t have the issues we mentioned, or b) you are not usually prone to headaches, then you have cause to see your doctor. Regular and severe headaches could be a symptom for brain cancer, and particularly if you have experienced one or more of these other symptoms, you do need to seek professional attention.

Symptom #4: Random Bruising

You can expect a few bruises here and there, especially if you’re clumsy or involved in physical activities. Your skin can also bruise quite easily as you age. However, if you notice bruises popping up on your body with no explanation as to why they should be there, then you need to pay attention. Mysterious bruising could be a symptom of leukemia, so taking a cue from this case study, speak to your doctor, because as with many cancers, getting help early can improve your chances of remission.

Symptom #5: Excessive Tiredness

We all get tired from time to time. A hard day at the office, a long day with the kids, a workout at the gym… these are just some of the reasons why our energy levels can plummet. There can be medical reasons too. Feeling fatigue can be brought on by depression and anemia, so a few lifestyle changes may be in order, as well as a trip to the doctor. However, as is discussed here, if you are regularly feeling fatigue and tiredness, you might be experiencing an early symptom of cancer. Don’t brush it off, book that appointment, and even if it is just tiredness because of the kids or a symptom of another health issue, you will at least have some peace of mind.

Finally

Don’t take any chances. If you have experienced any of the symptoms above, seek medical attention. You may be perfectly fine, but as we suggested earlier, if it is cancer, the sooner you get help, the greater your chances of overcoming this dreaded disease.

Take care, and thanks for reading!
